Vad in Prakrit means a banyan tree. Therefore the name of this Tirth implies a Banyan Tree of Liberation (Siddhashila). It is about 9kms away from Palitana taleti. Lord Adeshwar is believed to have walked on this sacred soil many times.
Banyan trees have a special spiritual significance as it is considered to grow for centuries and not able to grow again when it is destroyed.
